Macromedia was the original creator of flash, but was bought out by Adobe after Flash Professional 8 in a some-odd-billion-dollar stock exchange.
Since then, it's straight up Adobe.

Thats what I thought. Thats why I got confused when some kid was bragging about knowing macromedia flash...I just had to make sure.
